I'm Back!!! (I think)

Boy, this blog is starting to get dusty. I havent updated it for a long time, and even though Im back, I'm not too sure I'll be able to blog as frequently as before. Update: I am still writing up my thesis (aka Writing Up Hell). It's been very slow, but the end appears to be in sight (warning: I also said that a month ago, but the deadline keeps being changed to a later date).
I'm also back in Malaysia, and working on my thesis in my own office in UM.

I dont really have anything more to say right now...I'm saving all my energy for the last two chapters...and writing is not really a good pastime for someone who is currently writing 9-5, 6 days a week.

So, here are a few fossil photos of some specimens I "rediscovered' in my dusty MSC research collections:

This is a well preserved chonetid from the Utan Aji redbeds. I failed to identify it last time, but using my new microscope, I can see well preserved spines at the valve base. I think this is Malayanoplia

This is also Malayanoplia. Malayanoplia convexe to be exact. The valve preserves some internal structures. Any one wants to be my student at do a study on Malaysian Devonian Carboniferous brachiopods?
